Growin' Up with Spaceship Story

Postby vwlou89 on Thu Jun 05, 2008 7:16 pm

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knew about or where to find a version of Growin' Up with a "Spaceship Story"? At the last 2 concerts my Dad and I went to during the sax solo he said something to the tune of "tell the story" and further questioning has lead only to that it's not the same spaceship story as the "Kitty's Back Austin '75" one. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any help would be appreciated.

He told many different stories on the tour as they changed almost every night, some subtle but some were radical, everything from spaceships and Big Daddy Don Garlitz to the Teenage Werewolf, to being chased thru town by the police, to being at Yankee Stadium at 13 and others. No one's chronicled them that I know so other than "hunt and peck," the best way to find them would be to check out Brucebase where many of the shows talking parts have been painstakingly transcribed, including many of the Growin' Up stories from Darkness.

I realize a lot of time has passed since you first posted, but I just got here!

The "spaceship story" interlude for "Growin' Up" can be found on the "Oh Boy" boot of the 1978 Charleston, WV show.
