Danny Federici, for 40 years the E Street Band's organist and keyboard player, died on April 17, 2008 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City after a three year battle with melanoma.

The Federici family and the E Street family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Danny Federici Melanoma Fund. A web site for the Fund is being established and we'll post its link when it is on line.

Bruce Springsteen's concerts scheduled for Friday in Ft. Lauderdale and Saturday in Orlando performance are being postponed. Replacement dates will be announced shortly.

R.I.P. Danny...that comes rather surprisingly, i thought he's on a good way to get health again...

At least he got to play with the band one more time before he passed. Very sad, RIP.

RIP Danny! Gone too damn soon. I had no idea about his passing until about 4PM today, was listing to E Street radio.

Call it some odd coincidence ..who the heck knows, but I heard this driving on RT 29, New Jersey (Just HAD to take a drive on the 80 degree day) anyway it was only a few miles up the street from Flemington...ugh.

I'm blessed I saw him play live along with the rest of the band
I'm listening to his final show now..amazing setlist, the classics and the very rare stuff! WOW.

This show HAD to be videotaped (a clip was on the official site), so a new DVD should be made, and it should be this Nov 19, 2007 Boston show.

God bless him..Nuff said.

i havn,t been on for awhile but the loss of danny to the band is a big blow to all who love the e street band . all i can say as a tribute to danny and i hope bruce maybe gets to read this or someone can pass it on. don,t think of it as a good life lost but as a good life completed.
