According to BruceBase there are soundboard and audience recordings of this show.
It seemed though that only the very elite in the trading community got their hands
on it. Finding an authentic recording of this classic show was no easy task, as the
trading community in general only had copies of the controversial “Arena Rock”,
“Streets of Fire” and “Down In Jungleland Vol1” to name a few. The dates of these
shows and some of the old vinyl boots were all in question. As luck would have it the
show in essence found me. A very generous longtime fan had an audience recording in
his possession and offered to send me a copy along with photos from the actual show.
I’ve taken the liberty to do some light EQ work, although the show already sounded
good for it’s time, and patched up a few gaps. In addition, I made some transition
fades where needed. I am ecstatic to have worked on this recording and make it available
to the rest of the Bruce Springsteen Fanatics around the globe! Special thanks to my
Springsteen comrade for the source of this recording, who for some reason wanted to
remain anonymous.

When Mr Anonymous contacted me and asked if I was interested in hearing some of the New York Palladium shows from 76,
I didn’t hesitate to accept his generous offer. This is the first in the series of original master recordings captured
from a Sony 158SD cassette recorder. This recording from October 30, 1976 has not been widely circulated. Patti Smith
was a surprise guest on Rosalita. I used a graphic equalizer to give the songs a little more punch. I also did some
appropriate beginning and end fades and repaired space gaps on a couple of tracks. On RENDEZVOUS there are some slight
dropouts and momentary fluctuations. But, overall the sound is very enjoyable. Along with this recording are some
spectacular photos taken on the night of October 30th! Fanatic Records in association with Mr Anonymous is proud to
present this classic show to Bruce Tramps worldwide! Trading is our motto as this is a non-profit project.

This is the third installment of the original master series of cassette recordings
from the Palladium. This show took place November 2, 1976. This is a complete
recording with the exception of “Night”. The first minute and thirteen seconds were
missing. Rather than present this wonderful song incomplete, I used the beginning of
Night from the Palladium on October 30th. You’ll hear a change in sound, but this
shouldn’t take away from the show as a whole. It’s still a very enjoyable show.
Light graphic equalizing was done along with end fades and some in between track
transition cross fades. Photos used for the artwork were taken on the night of
October 30th. Fanatic Records in association with Mr Anonymous is proud to share

Notes: The last night of 1977 tour, and probably one of the greatest shows ever. "Are you ready for the final moments?" Bruce yells as the music culminates into "Night." "Don't Look Back" is just intense, and unfortunately isn't played again until August 7, 1999, after it's release on Tracks. "Backstreets" features an extended introduction and arguably the best pre-"Sad Eyes" monologues: "I wish God would send some angels to blow this whole f***in' town right into the sea." Available on the Great Dane Records release called "Forced to Confess," of which an upgrade has circulated called "Stranded in the Park."

Wow, there's an embarrassment of riches all of a sudden with shows being remastered or new sources coming into circulation. This is truly one of the all-time great shows, with what many would argue is the definitive performance of Backstreets.
This one is a remaster. Here's a review from bruceboots.info
1977-03-25 Boston From The Dark Heart Of A Dream
This yet another release of the milestone last show of the '77 Boston 4-night stand. This stand closed off the so-called
"Chicken Scratch Tour" of 1976/1977, and with it brings a couple of suprises and very rare renditions of some song.
The basic setlist of each night of the stand did not vary that much, yet during this 'Last Waltz" of the tour we had a
setlist containing both "Action In The Streets" and "Higher And Higher" which never again saw the light with the E Street
Band since. To accompany this, there is "Don't Look Back" which was only to be played again 8171 days later, during
the Reunion tour. This setlist still remains one of the greatest of the tour and this alone would probably make for an
amazing show.
Besides the setlist though, there were other circumstances giving this show the near mythical status it has amongst Bruce
bootleg collectors. Not only did this close off the tour and the Boston stand, always a home away from home for Bruce, it
also saw the upcoming end of Bruce's legal battles with Mike Appel.
Bruce has been "loose" during the entire Boston stand, but it culminated this night with one of the most stellar
performances of his entire life. The great feeling of liberation which Bruce likely had at the time is palpable.
From a very intense "Incident On 57th Street" to a marathon version of "Backstreets" and ending the main set with
"Rosalita (Come Out Tonight" including a snippit of "Auld Lang Syne" when the Miami Horns are introduced.
Everything felt just right about these songs, with the expection of a slightly warped start of "Born To Run", every note
seems to be hit just right and with a furious enthusiasm of both Bruce and the band, they sound amazing.
Like described before, the encore feature a collection of songs probably never witnissed again all in one night,
with an amazing "Higher And Higher" which seems to be going on forever, in the best possible sense of the word.
If you ever wanna give a friend a copy of a show to illustrate the "performer" Bruce Springsteen this would be one of
the first to think of.
There have been various versions of this show released, with this one being the latest addition to the list in early 2007.
The main contender for best version of this show is Ruthless Copying Records' "Stranded In The Park".
There is not a real definitive answer to which of two is the best. This release has a warmer sound, but sometimes a
little less distinction between individual instruments.
Being as I am not an audiophile, I prefer this version to the "Stranded In The Park" release, because of the somewhat
higher volume and warmer sound. Yet, there is something to be said for "Stranded In The Park", some people want to hear
a less polished version and more realistic of the shows.
Godfather usually works with things like hiss reduction and such, another example would be their "Home Of The '76ers"
release, this makes it sound better allround to most, yet does take away some of the original high frequencies.
I would rate this as the slight favourite when it comes to best release, keeping in mind the comments above on the
"Stranded In The Park" release. But either way you go, the sound on both is excellent.
this is now the best quality bootleg of a landmark show in Bruce history. If you would only have 1 bootleg from each tour,
thus would be the one to take from the Chicken Scratch tour, the entire feel of the show is unique.

Van Zandt was the lead vocalist (with Bruce on guitar/background vocals) on all the tracks above, except where noted."
